Zach's First Court of Honor

On Monday, Zach received his first Boy Scout Merit Badges at his first Court of Honor! He got badges for activities he completed during summer camp, and he got his Tenderfoot Badge saying he is an official Boy Scout!

Here are all of the badges he received:
The turtle is for going to Summer Camp
The brown with the fleur de lis is the Tenderfoot Badge
His Merit Badges were for Snow Sports, Communications, Indian Lore, and Fingerprinting.

He also received a Merit Badge for Horsemanship, but the scout store didn't have that badge, so he was recognized for it, but will get the actual badge later.

The Boy Scouts and leaders:

Good job Zach!!

Get Air!

Last Friday the kids didn't have school. So, we took advantage of the free day and went to Get Air!! It is a new trampoline park here in Wichita. When we first got in, I was a little disappointed. It seemed a lot smaller than I thought it would be, but the kids had a ton of fun and had plenty to do! The cost was a little steep, $12 per kid per hour, but we ended up getting to jump for about an hour and 20 minutes, and that was plenty of time for the kids to get all worn out!
There were lines of trampolines to jump on:

You could also slide down them!

We met my sister Mary & her three kids there! Here is Tabby with the boys:

There was also a tight rope!

Poor Riley had a mishap in the dodge ball court. :0(

He quickly "bounced" back into the foam pits though!
(See what I did there...Bounced Back?? I crack myself up!) ;0)

Tabby, Lily, and Johnny all took turns jumping in the pits too!

Alyssa was there too. She was all over the place so I had to tell her to jump in front of me so I could get a picture of her. LOL!

While I thought the price was a little steep to begin with, the kids did have a lot of fun and by the end I felt it was worth it and will probably go again soon!

Final Fun Day of Summer Break!

On Monday we had one last hurrah of summer! Each of the kids had friends over to play for the afternoon and we made mini pies!

I had mini graham cracker crusts that the kids all filled with different types of candy.

Then they filled it the rest of the way with chocolate pudding:

After the pudding set up in the fridge, they topped their pies with more candy, sprinkles, and whipped cream!

They all enjoyed them!

Later on, Lily & Riley's friends were still over (I was watching them for their mom) so we made mini pizzas for dinner!

Their mom & dad had pizza with Jeff & I and then we enjoyed a few glasses of wine while the kids played to toast that we all survived summer break! ;0)

First Day of School! (2014)

Today was the first day of school!! Lily was super excited!! Riley was kind of excited. Zach thought he was being sentenced to death.... ;0)

Here are my three cuties in their uniforms getting ready to head off to school! Zach is now in 6th grade (Middle school!!!!), Riley is in 4th, and Lily is in 2nd.

Zach actually got dropped off first, but he refused to let me take a picture of him in the classroom. At first he told us w couldn't even go in the room (or really near his room before he got in it, LOL!), but we reminded him of how much stuff he had to bring in and that he may need some help. So Jeff was allowed to drop off some stuff and then quickly leave. ;0)

Riley still lets me take a picture of him with his teacher. :0) This is Ms. Theisen's second year at All Saints, but Riley got to know her last year because he would go get books from her and he really likes her. I think he's going to have a great year!

Lily was the last one to get dropped off. Here she is with her BFF Alli being silly!

Mrs. Heise was also Lily's kindergarten teacher! We LOVE Mrs. Heise!!! Lily was SO excited to get her again. I know she will have a great year!!

Every year, I ask the kids the same questions before they go back to school. Some of the answers are always the same, and some change. Here are what they said this year:

I can't wait to see what they thought of their first day back!
