Random Pictures (Again)

Here are some more pictures that aren't really related to each other, but I thought were cute. (They're of my kids...of course I think they are cute!!) =)

This is Zach with both of his front teeth missing. He has now lost 4 teeth!!

He is finding it hard to eat apples & pears.

This is Lily playing "dress-up". She has my shoes on, her satin purse Grammy gave her with her "pretties" (bracelets) and the cute hat I ordered from Etsy.
Riley & Lily wanted to have a picnic when it was nice. (this cold weather needs to go away again!) Here they are at their picnic table. (Thanks Aunt Mary!)

Here is Lily actually keeping a bow in her hair. She likes the idea of a bow in her hair, but she always touches it so much that she ends up pulling it out.

OK, this one isn't my child, but he is so cute, I had to put his picture up here too. This is Ares, my nephew. He is exactly one week older than Lily. Isn't he adorable?

Rainy Day

I like rainy days. I even like a thunderstorm now and then. So, when it was rainy and not too cold, I asked Riley if he wanted to go out in it with our huge umbrella. He thought that would be fun, so out we went. Here is Riley with the umbrella that is almost as big as he is!

At our old house, the end of the driveway would be full of water even if it was barely raining, so I would let the boys go out and jump on the water. Here at the new house, we don't get as much water there (which is actually a good thing) but there is still enough water to jump in.

After Lily got up from nap, I took her & Riley back out. It wasn't raining anymore, but I thought she would like jumping in the water. As you can tell from the expression on her face, she wasn't really sure this was a good idea.

I can just see her thinking: OK, this isn't too bad.

Fun Weekend

My sister Amy & I went to visit one of our other sisters, Dianna, and her family this weekend. We left Friday afternoon and got back late last night. She has three adorable little boys. This is Camden, her youngest. He just turned one last month. Isn't he the cutest little guy?

This is him walking. He is getting really good at it!!

Carson is 5 (almost six). He has such a funny personality.

Dianna's oldest boy is Cooper. He is 7, so he probably won't appreciate being called sweet, but that's just what he is. =)

Amy brought kites for the boys to play with and it was so windy out that they got to use them. This is Amy helping Carson out.

This is me, Dianna, and Amy. We had a great time talking and laughing (mainly at each other). We think we are pretty funny....

and after we had some of these yummy drinks my brother-in-law made us, we thought we were even funnier. =)

We spent all of Saturday shopping and also went to see He's Just Not That Into You. It was a pretty good movie. Fun to watch with other girls. (I can not imagine dragging Jeff to see this.) Here is what the trunk of the car looked like when we got back to Dianna's Saturday evening:

I had a lot of fun this weekend. It was great to just hang out and relax. The kids and Jeff had fun while I was gone (McDonald's Play Place & the Zoo, yeah!!!) but I think they were all happy to see me today. Thanks for having us Dianna!!

My Day Off

Today Riley told me that I deserved a day off. Not one to argue with that, I asked what I should do for a day off. He looked up at me and said, "You do not have to take me to school!" I told him that even if I had a day off, he still had to go to school. I don't think he really liked that idea.

Sidewalk Art

Each of the kids has a folder full of art projects and papers that are theirs. I decided that since they like to draw with sidewalk chalk and I really can't save that, I would take pictures of their art every now and then to save in their folders along with their other works of art. Here are some pictures of their art from yesterday:

This is Zach's. It is a shark eating a turkey. I'm not sure if the turkey is in the ocean or the shark is on land though. =)

This is Riley's. He is really into scary things, so this is his monster.

And finally, this is Lily's. Since she is only 20 months old, she obviously doesn't draw anything you can recognize, but she loves to color all over the driveway.

What 6 Year Olds Talk About

On Tuesdays and Thursdays I pick Zach and my two nieces, Lindsey and Tabitha, up from school. The drive from school to Taby's house is only about 10 to 15 minutes depending on traffic, but in that span of time, Zach & Taby can talk about the funniest things. They sit next to eachother way in the back of the car and laugh and talk and fight. Some days I just love to listen to the things they don't think I am listening to. Today Zach was telling Taby that his Grammy (which also happens to be Taby's Grammy) has the best recipe for fresh water. Yes, you read that right. Apparently my mom can make water. =) He told her that Grammy puts the water into bottles and then puts them into the refrigerator and when they are cold, they are the best things ever! According to Zach, "Nothing is better than fresh water." So if you are looking for extremely good tasting fresh water, come on over to Zach's Grammy's house.

Today is Dr. Seuss's Birthday. I LOVE his books!! (and movies!) Here are some of the books that we own:

Since it is Dr. Suess's Birthday, Riley & I read some books. (My fave: The Lorax, Ri's fave: How the Grinch Stole Christmas.) Then we went online and found some cool art projects. Here is the Cat in the Hat face and hat that Riley made:

I am thinking about renting "Horton Hears a Who" for tonight!
