Last Wednesday, we had a Glow In The Dark Game Night! I got all kinds of glow in the dark things for a fun night event!
We all went to my parents' house at dusk to set up the games.
We had glow in the dark spinning tops:
(I got these at Dollar Tree)
Glow in the dark bowling:
(Water bottles with glow sticks in them)
Glow in the dark ring toss:
(Glow necklaces for rings & glow sticks for the pole)
And the older boys decorated the basketball goal with glow sticks!!
There was also a glow in the dark obstacle course, but I didn't get pictures of that. It was just glow rings that they had to run through & a giant glow stick to jump over.
I found these cool glow balloons at Walmart:
Everyone got glow necklaces, bracelets, and rings too!
(The rings came from Target, and all of the sticks and bracelets were from either Target, Walmart or Dollar Tree.)
After all of the games, they played glow in the dark tag. The person who is "it" takes their glow stuff off, and everyone else keeps theirs on. When the person who is "it" tags someone, then that person has to take their glow stuff off and is it, and the other person gets to put their glow stuff back on.
Later on, after we got everything all packed up, and headed home, I looked in the back set and saw this:
It was a giant glow fest back there!
We set up our pool for the summer! We got a new pool, since our pool last year was getting yucky. As we were standing in the store looking at the pools, Jeff & I could not remember how big our last pool was. Was it 12 feet or 15? We bought a 15 foot pool. After we set this one up, it was obvious that last years was 12.....
The kids thought this pool was the best thing ever! :0)
Even Emma got to "swim"! :0)
I see lots of days like this ahead of us!
One of the art projects that we have done so far this summer, is blow paint monsters. We needed paint, paper, straws, cups, and wiggly eyes. (also a marker)
We put paint in a cup, and added some water to make it thinner:
Then we put blobs of paint from the cup onto the paper:
Next came the fun part; blowing the paint around the paper with the straws to make monsters!
They each did several colors.
When the paint was dry, they each added wiggly eyes and mouths with a marker:

They had a lot of fun doing this & they turned out great!
Last Thursday, after it rained, Lily wanted to go out & splash in the puddles, so we all decided to go out! I put one of Lily's raincoats on Emma, and had Zach walk with her through the water. I wasn't sure how she would like this, but she ended up loving it! She thought it was funny. :0)
Lily & Riley had fun too!
After awhile, Zach wanted to play without Emma (I don't know why!!) ;0), so he put her on the driveway, and before I could get her, she had crawled into the water & was playing. She loved it!

She was trying to drink the water! Yuck! She wasn't too happy with me for picking her up, but I don't think her Mom & Dad would appreciate her drinking street water.....
Cheap fun, that's what we like in this house. ;0)
