Christmas Concert

Zach had his Christmas Concert last night.
His class sang two songs; "The Friendly Beasts" and "Jingle Jive".

The kids all got to wear hats that were either a cow, sheep, donkey, or dove.
Only some of them were in the animal trios where they got to go up and sing their animals part.
Zach was in the "cow trio".

He did GREAT!!
(Proud Mommy here.)

The "Jingle Jive" song was cute too. It was basically "Jingle Bells", but the kids got to point to the audience when we were supposed to sing a word or phrase. It was fun for the kids. Some of them (my child) got really into it. =)

Zach had a lot of fun and did a great job!

Letters To Santa

Last week we wrote letters to Santa.

Lily "drew" what she wanted and then told me what she wanted.
She wants a reindeer.....

After writing Santa and his name, Riley also drew what he wanted. He kept adding things as I was writing what he wanted. My favorite was that he wanted a real car. I don't think he will be getting that one.....Santa can't fit it in his sleigh.
Zach wrote his own letter and then drew the pictures to go along with it. At the very bottom, he wrote he wanted a battery......we never have them, we are always out and they seem to go in every toy they own. =)

Santa always writes us back, so now we just have to wait for his reply.

They can't wait!

3D Color Dome

Zach got this cool gift for his Birthday from his Aunt Amy. He LOVES it!

So do I actually.
There is a clear panel on the inside that you can draw a picture on and then you draw another picture on the outside of the dome.
They have sheets that you can trace or you can draw your own.
Then you put the inside panel on and place the dome on top.
It has lights that glow in the dark and it also spins around.
You can choose settings where you only see the inside or the outside pictures or you can see both.
Pretty cool toy.
Thanks Aunt Amy!!

Santa!

While we were out looking at Christmas lights, we stopped inside the building at the Lights of St. Paul to see Santa. I was really surprised that Lily got up onto Santa's lap and was not scared at all. Of course, he did give her a candy cane first......

Santa asked what they wanted for Christmas.
Zach suddenly got (uncharacteristically) shy and said, "Ummmm, I don't know...."
Riley looked at him and said, "I wrote you a list!!!"
Yeah, Santa. He wrote you a list, don't you already know what he wants?!?! =)
Ah, Riley. Always entertaining.

They had their candy canes unwrapped and halfway eaten before we even got back to the car.
It was a successful trip to see Santa!

Christmas Lights

We went to look at Christmas lights last night. We stopped for Hot Chocolate first, and then headed over the Lights on St. Paul.

The kids really liked the lights there.
We also went inside to see Santa!!! (Stay tuned for those pictures tomorrow.....)

We also went to College Hill to see lights.

This is one of our Christmas traditions. This time of year is SO busy, but we always have to make time to look at the lights, even if we have to do it late at night and the boys fall asleep. =)
Lily was wide awake!
Too much hot cocoa and candy canes for her I guess. =)

Zach's Birthday Sleepover

One of the things that Zach got to do for his Birthday was invite a friend over for dinner, Lunar Golf, and spend the night. He chose his new "best friend" Cody.

After Jeff finally came home, we headed to Lunar Golf.

The boys had a lot of fun and Cody even won a prize when he hit his ball into the prize hole!!!
Then we stopped to let the boys pick out a movie and to get hot chocolate to go with the brownies we had at home.
Jeff made a fire and the boys settled in to watch their movie.
After the movie, they got into their sleeping bags.
We only heard laughing and talking for a little while, then all was quiet........until this morning. =)
Zach had such a good time with Cody!
After a family party on Sunday, treats with his class and dinner out on Wednesday, and a sleepover last night, I think we are finally done with Zach's Birthday. ;-)
