End of School Fun!

On Tuesday of this week, the kindergartners had an ice cream party! Throughout the year, they had been given sight words to memorize. Once they got each set memorized, they got a scoop on their ice cream cone. How many topping you got on your ice cream depended on how many scoops you got throughout the year. Lily memorized all of hers, so she got 10 toppings!!

Then today, they had a cute little ceremony in their classroom for the last day of school. They watched a slide show of their yer together, and then got diplomas for "graduating" kindergarten! Here is Lily & Mrs. Heise. We love her!!

Reading that made me tear up. I can't believe she will be in first grade next year!! Riley will be in 3rd & Zach will be in 5th!! What?!? So crazy. My little babies are not babies anymore. :0(
Now it is time to have some summer fun! We can't wait for all of our summer adventures!

Summer Fun Buckets

Last year, on the last day of school, this fun sign welcomed the kids into the house:

This year I wanted to do something fun for the last day of school again, but I wanted to do something different. So, I made Summer Fun Buckets. I tried to get as many things in their favorite colors as I could (blue for Riley, pink for Lily, and purple for Zach).

Their buckets are full of fun things for this summer:

silly string, glow sticks, sun-catchers, Frisbees, candy, sunglasses, flip-flops, bubbles, ice cream shaped sidewalk chalk, jump-ropes, and sand pails.

I can't wait to give these to them on Thursday!

Daisy Scouts

Last Tuesday, Lily & her Daisy Troop had their ceremony where they got their petals that they had been earning all year.

This is Lily & her Troop Leader, Miss Gladie

Before they got their badges, all of the girls read part of the Girl Scout Law:

When it was Lily's turn to go up, she gave the Daisy handshake,

and got her achievement pin.

She got all of her petals, plus two leaves, and a Scout Sunday badge:

Miss Gladie also gave all of the girls these cute photo albums to put all of their Daisy pictures in!

I also got something! A cute Girl Scout Volunteer magnet, a Scout Sunday badge, and a pin for being the Co-Leader.

After the ceremony, we had a yummy cook-out and the girls played outside together. It was a fun evening!

Lily's First Lost Tooth!

Lily finally lost her first tooth on Sunday! Her two front bottom teeth have been really loose for awhile now, but one of them finally came (got pulled) out! The other tooth is still pretty wiggly, but it's still hanging on. ;0)

She was very proud of herself & was SO excited when the Tooth Fairy left her a dollar under her pillow.

Spring Concert

Last Thursday, the kids had their Spring Concert. They all sang songs from different countries. It was really fun to listen to the different types of songs.
The Kindergarten was first. Lily was SUPER excited!

Both of their songs had cute actions!

Soon it was Riley's class's turn.

He was so worried we wouldn't like his songs because he didn't really like them.

He had nothing to worry about, of course, because he and his class did a great job!

Finally it was the 4th grade's turn. Zach was so excited about all of the hard work he had put in to this concert.

During their first song, they played the recorder. They sounded great!

The second song had words in Vietnamese, but they did great on that too!

Another concert over.....soon it will be time for Summer break!

We're Going To The Zoo, Zoo, Zoo....

On Monday, Jeff & I went on the Kindergarten Field Trip to the zoo. We had Lily & her BFF Charlie as our "group". =)
They were really excited when they saw this peacock and it let them stand so close to it!

We ran into a few other groups from All Saints while waiting for our group lesson:

Their lesson was on fossils. They got a cup of dirt and they had to look through it to find different things. Lily found a shark tooth!

Lily & Charlie used the zoo key on everyone they could find to learn about the animals and hear fun songs.

I'm glad it's not just my kids who like to pose with statues.....

After lunch we headed over to the petting zoo.

There was a peacock over there too, and it was showing it's feathers off!

We were getting ready to head inside the barn when we saw that you could feed the baby lambs. We got in line and both Lily & Charlie got to bottle feed one!

Then we headed inside where the only things they wanted to do was take pictures on the wooden horse & cow. :0)

By the middle of the afternoon, these two were getting tired! This is what they did in the gorilla area:

After a little rest, they were off again!
