Halloween Fire Party!

Saturday evening, Amy, Sam, & I had a Halloween Fire Party. (Amy did most of the work though.) We invited our family over & told the kids they could wear costumes!

The yard was all decorated for Halloween!

This is Lily's "scared" face.....

We had lots of fun things planned for the kids; pumpkin painting, a craft table with Halloween stickers, pumpkin bowling, Halloween bean bag toss, witch hat ring toss, and web shooting.

Sam & Emma:

When the kids got there, they started in on all of the fun things right away!

Soon it was time to eat!

This is these 3 cuties first Halloween!

As it got darker, we brought out the desserts! We had S'mores, Witches Fingers, Pumpkin Popcorn Balls, and a Caramel Apple Bar!

Brigid likes chocolate.......

When it was completely dark, we all gathered around the fire & Amy told some scary stories!

After Amy's stories, the kids got a chance to tell some. Some of them were pretty good!! (and funny!) ;0)

Lily really likes Madison. We are glad she got to come up from Texas to see us!

When I was taking this picture, I was just trying to get a picture of Amy, Sam, and Emma, but when I saw it on the computer, I noticed Ares:

I hope this Halloween Fire Party is something we can continue to do each year. It was SO much fun!! Thanks Amy & Sam for hosting!!

Halloween Craft Day 2

We had our second Halloween Craft Day yesterday!
Lily, Camden, and Johnny made pumpkin windsocks!!
They worked hard gluing their faces on....

and then adding streamers!

Then we made footprint ghosts!!

All three kids agreed that the paintbrushes tickle your feet!

Then we added googly eyes & mouths.

Oooooo! Scary ghosts!

Halloween!!!

We had a GREAT Halloween last night!! The kids got way too much candy, but I'm sure Jeff will help them out with some of that. ;-)

Zach was (as he kept saying) a camouflaged Ninja.

Riley (who likes to do whatever Zach does) was also a Ninja.

Lily was Sleeping Beauty.

I even put some glitter eyeshadow on her. She loved getting all dressed up!

Ready to Trick-or-Treat!!

These are our pumpkins lit up. The picture isn't good, but you get the idea.

I took all three kids around our court. Lily was so excited about Trick-or-Treating! She would run up to the house and yell to the boys, "ring the bell" and then she would say Trick-or-Treat with the boys and get SO excited when they gave her candy. Lily doesn't usually talk to people she doesn't know, so I was impressed that she was so eager to go door to door.

We dropped Lily off at home with Jeff when we were done with our street, and I took the boys back out for more candy. They had a lot of fun and Riley kept saying, "This is the best Halloween ever!!"

I hope everyone had the best Halloween ever too!

Carving Pumpkins

We carved pumpkins tonight....after the boys' Halloween party......because I forgot all about carving them last night.

Lily was way more enthusiastic this year. Last year, she refused to have anything to do with the inside of the pumpkin. Tonight she was all about it. She dug her hand right in and pulled out a seed!

She even wanted to touch the big pile of gunk Jeff pulled out for.

Riley on the other hand, did not like it...again. I think this picture pretty much explains how he feels about sticking his hand in a pumpkin. =)

Zach, like every year, LOVES to pull the slimy stuff out.

Me? I'm with Riley. That's not my favorite part.

Lily told me what shapes she wanted on her face, and then she "helped" me carve it.

Riley designed his pumpkin's face and then I helped him carve it.

Zach drew his own face on, then said, "Mom, I'm old enough to carve my own pumpkin". (add some attitude into that sentence.) So, he did, and he did a really good job!

Now they are all done! Now we just have to wait until tomorrow night to light them up! (I buy light sticks to put in them, so we don't have to use candles, and they are cool colors!)
