Lily's Ballet Dance

A few weeks ago, Lily's dance teacher let us come in and watch the girls' progress on their dance for the Spring Recital. I got to record it! I used my phone though & I just now got around to asking Jeff how to get it off of my phone. =) (LilY is in the black leotard and hot pink tutu.)

While they still need to work on memorizing the dance, I think they are all doing great!

Lily's Dance Recital

Lily had her first dance recital on Saturday. She takes both tap and ballet, so she got to perform two dances! She was super excited too. Lily has never been one to get up early. Her idea of getting up early is 8:45. So, when she came into our room before 7:30, we knew she was excited about dancing.

I took her to her dance room, and helped her get her tutu on. When I saw her teacher, Miss Katie, I went to sit with Jeff & the boys. Grandma & Grandpa Logan and Grammy & Granddad Ramsey were there too. (Thanks for coming to support Lily. She loved that you were there!)
I wasn't sure how Lily would react when she saw all of those people. I was afraid she might freeze up.

I had absolutely nothing to worry about! She was all smiles and even jumped and waved when she saw all of us.

She did a great job!! So did the rest of the girls in her class. She has a really good group of girls that she gets to dance with every week.

After her ballet dance, they all went back into the classroom where we changed them into their tap shoes. When it was their turn, they were all smiles again.

They did great with their tap dance too. Lily was having SO much fun!!

It was so fun to watch them and it was probably the cutest thing I've ever seen. (But I might be biased...) ;0)

Lily is now going to start learning her dance for her spring recital. She is super excited that she gets to dance in a real dance costume for that one!

Good job Lily!! We are so proud of you!

****After Lily's dance, we went over to see Santa who was there. Lily could not wait to see him!

Ballerina Lily

Lily started her dance classes back up again this month. She is doing tap and ballet and she loves it! Two of her friends from last year are in her class again this year. It is nice that Lily already knew two of the girls (and that I already knew two of the moms!)

This year she will have two recitals. The first one will be in December at the YMCA Breakfast with Santa. The second one will be in May. She will get to wear a costume for the second one. She is pretty excited about that. =) She will also get to be in two dances for each recital because she takes both tap and ballet.

Dance "Recital"

Yesterday, Lily's dance teacher let all of the mommies in the studio to watch the kids dance.
Usually we can just watch through the glass.

But then Ms. Gail let us come in so they could show off some of the dance moves they have learned over the last few months.

It was so fun to watch her get so excited to show off what she could do.

After applause from all of the mommies, they quickly changed ballets shoes for tap shoes.

At the end, they always get into a little circle and do a cheer.

"We LOVE Dance!!"

I can't wait to see what else she learns.

Ballerina Lily

After having her dance class canceled because of weather last week,
Lily was super excited to be going again this week.
She got her leotard with a skirt, tights, and ballet slippers on.
I even got her hair up in a little bun.

Then she showed me some of her "moves" as she calls them.

Then is was time to go to class!

Seriously, this is SO cute to watch!!

(I might be biased though....)

The last 10 minutes of class is designated to tap dancing.

All of the girls were excited to get their tap shoes on.

This was the first time they got to do it!

Lily loved making her shoes click. =)

She can't wait to go back next week!

New Shoes

Lily had her first dance class today.
She LOVED it!
The class was called Wiggles & Giggles Dance class.
I dressed her in a cute outfit with a tutu, but I didn't go full on ballerina.
I didn't think it was that kind of class.
Then I saw the other girls......

ballet shoes, tights, leotards......

But they weren't doing any ballet dancing to begin with, they were just dancing around.

And Lily was having fun doing it!

So, I didn't think too much of not having on the right shoes.

Then they started doing this:

Hmmmm....

Maybe I should have at least put her in her leotard....

(By the way, this is the cutest thing I have ever seen!!)

So after class, we went to get new ballet slippers.

She could not wait to put them on!

She showed Grammy & Granddad some of her moves with her new shoes.

They will also learn how to tap dance in this class.

Yep, you guessed it, another new pair of shoes.

Leave it to my daughter to love something where she gets new shoes. ;-)
