We officially finished our Summer Fun List last Saturday, and not too soon. The kids start school tomorrow!! There's a few photos so, I'm just going to throw the rest of our summer fun list into one post. :0)
We had cousins come into town, so we went to Exploration place with them and cousins who live here too!
Then we had our annual Outdoor Movie Night at my mom & dad's. My sister Kathleen & I got all kinds of snacks & popcorn, then we set up the projector and watched Big Hero 6!
My niece Rachel had a princess tea party that Lily went to. She had a ton of fun!!
While she was there, the boys and their cousin Johnny played Laser Quest!
We checked Glow Golf off of our list a few weeks ago too!
Lily finished he Summer Skills Workbook!! She was very proud of herself!
We bowled a lot using Kids Bowl Free. Just sign up and the kids can bowl 2 games once per week. The only cost is the shoe rental, but that's only $2.00 each!
The kids enjoyed egg shell painting again this summer. mainly because they get to throw the eggs....
Jeff found several Geo Cache's for the kids to do. They love following the GPS to find the "prizes" and leaving new prizes.
We also went to the zoo a few times. The kids always enjoy that!
I still have to post about our Mini Vacation, but that deserves it's own post.
We have had a fun filled summer, and now we're (or at least I'm) ready for a fun filled school year!!

S'Mores Party!
Last night we were able to cross another fun thing off of our summer list; s'mores! We had originally planned on having these in July, but it was after I got sick with bronchitis & Jeff was still not feeling too well from his lingering pneumonia, so we had to call it off. That's OK though because it was 110* that day & it would have been miserable!! We rescheduled and the weather was beautiful! We had it out at my sister & brother-in-law's house (Amy & Sam), so we were out in the country where there was plenty of room for the kids to run! My brother & sister-in-law (Tom & Carla) brought a case of silly string for the kids to play with, so we set out the cans & let the kids go at it! They had a ton of fun!!
This was SO much fun! After everyone had their fill of s'mores, Amy brought out the homemade vanilla & strawberry ice cream she had made. The kids ran around with glow in the dark bracelets (thanks Grammy!), and they even played "Ghosts in the Graveyard", a game we adults all played as kids. =)
I can't wait to get together again for another party like this!!
After the silly string, we set the s'more stuff out:
If you have never had a s'more with a Reese's peanut butter cup, you don't know what you're missing! They are SO yummy! =)
Sam got the fire going & the kids got the marshmallows roasting!
Don't worry, we realize how dry it has been. Sam & Amy made sure that the ground had been nice and saturated with water and they kept a hose that was on near the fire the whole time.

Getting Ready For Christmas!
Yesterday, we spent most of the day baking. We made Jeff's favorite cookies from childhood; Wafer Cookies. The kids love them too! We also made peanut clusters, and peanut blossoms. Yum!!

Later on in the evening, Jeff built a big fire:
We had hot chocolate, and apples with yummy peanut butter & caramel dip and watched a movie. (Can you tell we are a peanut loving family??)

We do have stockings, but Jeff did not want them up with the fire going... in case you were wondering. :0)

I just had to get a picture of them all sitting in front of the fire and tree before the movie though.

Riley did a great job singing with his class! He must have been tired though, because the poor guy was yawning throughout the entire thing!
