Rainbow Color Hunt

Last week, we had a Rainbow Treasure Hunt with the kids and their cousins. First I got yarn of different color (one for each kid), and then taped each color to a cup with each child's name on it. I strung the string all over my parents' yard criss crossing, around trees, gates, etc. At the end of each string was a bag with candy (that doesn't melt) and their name on it for their prize.

I went over in the morning to hang all of the string. It took me about an hour!
Then we all came over in the afternoon to do the hunt. Each kid had to find their cup and then follow it until they found their prize. It was pretty funny to watch them!

They were excited when they found their treasure bags!

Family Carnival!

On Monday, we had a big family carnival! My sister Kathleen did the majority of the work/planning/organizing, but we all pitched in to help with food, games, prizes, etc. It was SO much fun!! We set it up at my parent's house since they have the most room outside.

We had it at 6:00, and no one had to worry about dinner, because there were hot dogs, chips, watermelon, and dips. Yum!

We also had a popcorn machine!

One of the booths I was responsible for was the photo booth. We had all kinds of funny things for people to use to make silly pictures!

There were lots of other fun things too!
Lindsey was a fortune teller:

We had bobbing for apples:

A ducky pond:

This is how Emma decided to play. ;0)

Fish pond:

bowling:

Bean Bag Toss:

Pop Ring Toss:

Candy Bar Walk:

Toilet Paper Throw:

Balloon Darts:

And a Lemonade straw game.

All of these games had super fun prizes for the kids too!

Besides games, had balloon animals done by my sister Mary!

And face painting by my sister Amy!

And no carnival would be complete without cotton candy.....

and snow cones!

So much fun packed into one carnival!! My kids wanted to do it again yesterday, but they'll have to wait until next year.
Thank you SO much Kathleen for all of your hard work. All of the kids (and adults) had a ton of fun!!
