Happy Valentine's Day!

I Can't Hear You....

When little Miss Lily was born, I thought maybe I would be on a little more even playing field with the three boys in my house. But today, as my sister Dianna put it, "Even your baby girl is against you." =)
After telling the boys what seemed like 500 times to put their toys in their room, I said to Lily (who at the time was sitting sweetly in her highchair waiting for dinner), "Doesn't anyone in this house listen to me?" She looked up at me and said, "Dada!" (who is her favorite) I said, "No, I don't think Daddy listens to me either." =) Lily then started laughing very loudly.....I think she knew I was right.

Zach Looses a Tooth

Zach lost his second tooth today after school. He lost his first tooth in December, but he wasn't that excited about it since the new tooth had already grown in behind the baby tooth. When his second tooth became loose, he was very excited because there was no new tooth crowding it out (that he could see). He has been wiggling that tooth for weeks now and when he came home from school today, he showed me that his tooth was just barely hanging in there. I asked him if he wanted me to pull it and he said yes. But, as I was pulling the last tiny thread that was holding it in there, he said, "No!" I showed him the tooth and said, "Too late." He was happy that it was out and that it was pain free. Now he is anxiuosly awaiting the Tooth Fairy. (After I persuaded him to not bring it to his class for Show and Tell.)

I Love My Tummy!

Lily has discovered she has a tummy. Well, she discovered it awhile ago, but she loves to look at it and show it off. She is so funny. She gets mad if she has overalls or a onsie shirt on because she can't lift it up to look at her tummy or show it to random strangers in the grocery store. =) She loves to have her tummy tickled or for you to give her a "zerbert" on it. It is amazing what will entertain a 1 year old.

Zoo Fun!

I love this weather we have been having. I knew it wasn't going to last long though, so I decided to make the most of it. On Friday, I went to the zoo with Riley, Lily, & my sister Amy. Well, when Zach heard, he was a little upset. This was the first time we went to the zoo without him. So, since it was such a nice day again today (and Jeff missed out on all of Lily's reactions to the animals) we decided to go again! Here are some pictures from both of our trips.

The last time we went to the zoo, (in the Fall) Lily hadn't been walking for too long & wasn't too interested in the animals. This time she was very excited about them. It was so funny to watch her get excited. Riley loves the sheep. I think this is his favorite part of the zoo.

Riley (and Zach) love climbing on the statues at the zoo and getting their picture taken. We joke that we go to the zoo to see the statues. Here is a picture of Aunt Amy bravely getting up on the lions too.

I love the peacocks at the zoo. Here is one that was literally posing with Zach. It moved away after I stopped taking pictures.

Happy Birthday Jeff!

Today is Jeff's 33rd Birthday!! To help celebrate, the kids made him a cake. In case you didn't know, there are a lot of steps in making a cake. Here are pictures of this long process:

Here they are "frosting" the cake. Lily was VERY upset that Zach would not let her lick the spatula. Good work Zach!


Now comes the hard part....decorating it. This part took longer than all of the other parts combined. They wanted it to look really good for Daddy. They did a good job.

Making Valentines!

We made Valentines today! I know, it's a little early, but my kids LOVE to do art projects. We painted papers red, pink, and lavendar. When they were dry, we cut out hearts & glued them to pretty doilies.

Here is Zach doing his after school. He really likes to paint, so a lot of times I save art projects for him to do after school that Lily & Riley did during the day.
