St. Patrick's Day! (2015)

We like to make a big deal of St. Patrick's Day in our house. The kids usually get a cute treat from Jeff & I:

And as usual, the leprechauns came and left little green footprints and (chocolate) gold coins:

The kids love racing around finding the gold and the footprints. :0)

This year, they got an extra surprise with rainbow pancakes!! I put equal amounts of pancake mix into 6 cups and then put Wilton icing colors into each cup and mixed them. (and yes, I used plastic cups, because I am lazy and I didn't want to wash that many dishes.) ;0) 

I made them fairly small because they were getting 6 pancakes each.

I added a little side of whipped cream as a "cloud". :0)

The kids loved them!!

After dinner I had one more St. Patrick's surprise for them. Lime sherbet with ginger ale, topped off with whipped cream and rainbow airhead candy.

Even though we never saw any actual leprechauns, it was another fun St. Patrick's Day!!

Last night, we got ready for St. Patrick's Day. We are going over to my mom & dad's house today so the kids can play with their cousins, so we thought we would make some cupcakes. Zach frosted them all, Lily dipped them in green sugar, then Zach added a piece of "gold" or a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup, and I added the rainbow:

Then, because the kids really wanted more of them, we made the mint Oreo truffles again to take over there:

After Riley, and Lily went up to bed, the leprechauns came to leave their green footprints & gold!

Wow! Those leprechauns are tall!! ;0)

After the big leprechaun went to bed, I made the kids St. Pat's present from Jeff & I.

They were pretty excited to see those this morning. :0)

All three kids ran in to find the gold too!

I had gotten these leprechaun facial hair sets at Dollar Tree. :0)

Zach wanted me to take this picture of a leprechaun eating a rainbow.....

So Riley did too.....

St. Patrick's Day!

As they do every year, the leprechaun's came to our house, messed up our family room, and left gold (chocolate) coins for the kids. Here are some place they hid them:

The kids had fun finding them and the green footprints they leave behind!

This year, they got an extra treat from Jeff & I. Rainbow candies!

They were definitely excited about their haul! =)

St. Patrick's Day Crafts!

Today, we did St. Patrick's Day crafts! The first thing we made were hand print shamrocks. The kids painted their hands green:

Then pressed 4 prints onto the paper:

And added a stem. They all turned out cute! (Even Emma got to do crafts today!)

The second thing we made was a hand print rainbow with a pot of gold. Each of their fingers was a different color of the rainbow. (except purple, there are only five fingers & six colors!) Then they pressed their print onto paper....

and added a black pot and glitter for gold!

Here is Emma putting her glitter on.....what she really wanted to do was eat it. ;0)
