15 Years Ago......

I met my best friend, and the person I was going to spend the rest of my life with.
15 years ago today, we went out on our first date.
The picture below is not of our first date. ;0)

We got engaged a few months later......

and 2 1/2 years later, in 1999, we were married!

A year after we were married we bought our first house. We accomplished a lot of things together; Jeff started the job he has now, and I graduated from college and began my first teaching job.

In 2002 we welcomed our first baby boy, Zachary William Logan.

2 1/2 years after we were blessed with Mr. Zachary, little Riley Scott Logan was born.

In the time after Riley was born, I decided to be a stay at home mom, we sold our first house, and bought the house we live in now.

Then in 2007, Miss Lily Paige Logan was born.

In 2009, Jeff & I celebrated 10 years of marriage! We went back to St. Maarten, where we went on our Honeymoon.

Since then, we have seen Zach grow into a smart and sometimes too serious 9 year old, Riley become a funny, loving 6 year old, and Lily turn into a sweet, very girly 4 year old. I know we are only seeing hints of who they will be as they get older, but so far I am so very proud of all of them.

As for Jeff & I, I love him more than I ever thought I could 15 years ago. I couldn't imagine my life without him, or our 3 beautiful children.

15 years has gone by so fast, but seems so long ago.

Thank you Jeff for the past 15 years.....I look forward to many, many more years together. I have loved the adventure so far, I can't wait to see what else life brings us.

What We've Been Up To:

1. Last week, we got a new couch for the Living Room:

Which meant that the furniture that was in here moved to the Family Room, and that furniture went into the basement. Which will be used someday, whenever we decide to finish it. Originally we weren't going to get new tables, just the couch (and rug and throw pillows, and a new lamp), but that coffee table does not quite fit in here now. The 2 ends of the couch are recliners, and if you put the foot rests up on the couch, they hit the table. So, I sacrificed and picked out new tables. ;0) They should get here sometime this week, and then these will go in the Family Room too.
2. We have been having so much fun loving on these two cuties this past week!

Ares allows Lily to hold his babies. After he tells her not to poke them, of course though. :0)

Lily sure does love these babies!

3. We have also loved having Mr. Ares at our house this week to play!!

They really do get along pretty well. They had their moments of being tired of being together, but mostly, they had a lot of fun.

4. It snowed this past week!

Not very much, which made the kids sad, but they still went out in it for a little bit.

(Yes, I know he doesn't have shoes on.......I am collecting my Mother of the Year Award later on today....)

5. Riley and Zach got to see the twins finally on Friday!!

They were SO excited. They had been waiting all week!!

6. Jeff & I took a trip to KC this past weekend. Just the 2 of us. It was a much needed break. We went to one of our favorite restaurants up there, saw a movie, (one that started at 8:30!! So late!) ;0) and went shopping. So fun and so relaxing!

7. One of the places we went shopping at was The Crown Center Mall. This guy was there:

He's made entirely of Lego's! It was up to advertise that Lego land is coming to KC next month. They are also putting in a new aquarium in April. Jeff & I want to take the kids back in April so we can go to those fun events.

8. It snowed again last night. This time was even more than last time......

but not enough for a snow day. The boys were disappointed. But not Lily. She didn't want her Valentine Party with her cousins to get canceled.

And that's what we've been up to!

Storybook Craft Day

Yesterday, we had craft day that centered around some of Lily's favorite stories:

First we read One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. (Lily actually likes Cat in the Hat better, but that is super long.)
Then we made Cat in the Hat hats! They each got a white "hat" and they glued on the red stripes. We cut the extra sides off of the red paper and taped yarn to the back to tie around their heads.

These are some cute "cats"!

Next we read Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. Then we made coconut trees with the ABC's on them. We started with a tree trunk on a piece of paper, then we painted their hands green to make the palms:

Then they glued brown puff balls onto the tree for coconuts, and added alphabet stickers!

They did a great job!

The last book we read was If You Give a Mouse a Cookie. After that we had cookies!

And they wanted milk to go with them! ;0)

Welcome to the World Miss Brigid & Miss Ceri!

My niece Rachel had her twin girls this morning! They weren't sure whether they were identical or not.....they are not identical! They actually look pretty different. :0)
This is Miss Ceridwen Fay:

And this little miss is Brigid Kay:

Jeff was able to meet me up at the hospital to meet them too!

And what exactly does their big brother think about these little girls?

I'd say he's pretty excited about them......

for now.... ;0)

Welcome to the world Brigid & Ceri!

Congratulations Rachel & Kyle!!! They are beautiful!

Jeff's 36th Birthday!

Jeff's Birthday was Saturday. He started it out by getting to sleep in and eat breakfast in bed. Then he got to go pick up our new furniture. Don't feel bad for him. He picked it out and he chose when to pick it up. :0)
Later on in the day after we took him to lunch, he opened presents from the kids. (He got my present about a month ago....it was a saw he had been wanting/needing.)

The kids were SO excited for him to open the presents they gave him and to read the cards they made for him.

After dinner we had one of Jeff's favorite desserts, a peanut butter pie-type dessert.

It was pretty low-key, but that's what he said he wanted. :0)

Then on Sunday, we took this cake over to his parent's house so we could celebrate Jeff's Birthday while the Super Bowl was on.

My sister Mary made the arrowhead out of candy clay for me. (THANKS!!)

They were all decked out in their Chief's gear!

The inside was also Chief's colors:

Jeff, I hope you had a wonderful Birthday, because you deserve it. We are so lucky to have you in our lives. You are the best husband a girl could ask for and no one could be a better daddy to Zach, Riley, and Lily. We love you!!

My Little Cooking Helpers

I had some cute helpers in my kitchen today:

Tomorrow is Jeff's Birthday. We are having one of his favorite peanut butter desserts tomorrow night, but we are making him another cake for Sunday night to celebrate his Birthday at his parent's house during the Super Bowl. These two helped me make the cake today & then I will frost it on Sunday.
They poured in the ingredients, cracked eggs, and used the hand mixer:

After the batter was all mixed, they licked the beaters:

Obviously Ares liked the batter, because before I could stop him, he dipped his beater back into the bowl and got a lot more batter on his beater! :0)

While they were licking their beaters, I separated the batter into 2 bowls so we could make one cake red & one cake yellow.

That way when Jeff cuts into it, he will see Chief's colors! My sister Mary is making an arrowhead out of candy clay for me to put on top. (Pictures of the actual cake to come later.)

While not having my little helpers may have been a little bit easier, it wouldn't have been as fun!
