Christmas Concert & Christmas Light Scavenger Hunt!

Last Friday, the kids had their school Christmas Concert! They got all dressed up and ready to go!

The First Graders were second to go up to sing!

I am So Glad Each Christmas Eve and I Want A Hippopotamus For Christmas!

Riley's class sang Fum, Fum, Fum and When Santa Claus Gets Your Letter.

The 5th grade sang sleigh Ride and We Sing Gloria!

Zach had a duet in Sleigh Ride.

Zach is also in Honor Choir, and they sang Bring a Torch, Jeanette Isabella.

They all did a great a job!! We were so proud of them!

After the concert, we headed out to look at Christmas Lights! I thought it would be fun to look for certain items this year, so we did a light scavenger hunt!

They found quite a few things on the list before we even got to The Lights On Saint Paul.

After those lights, we drove around Wichita looking at lots of cool lights!

They only two things we couldn't find was the Grinch and a Disney Character.
:0(  Oh well. They had fun checking off most everything else, got to drink hot chocolate, eat candy canes, and see lots of lights!! :0)

Sugar Cookies!

So, we made our annual Christmas sugar cookies. Jeff was gone at a meeting so he missed out on the fun. In fact, he was gone last year too.....I think I am seeing a pattern here.... ;0)

I usually make the dough & let the kids cut out the cookies, but with so much going on in the evenings, it was easier to just cut them & bake them myself that way we could get them all done in one day.

After dinner, we got the frosting and sprinkles out to get ready to decorate!

I even grabbed a few to decorate with them:

Here are their finished cookies:

I like the stocking that looks like a watermelon. When I pointed it out to him, he said, "I didn't even mean to do that!" LOL!

I don't know why, but this cookie of Lily's cracks me up!! It's like it's saying, "Not the gumdrop buttons!!" Hee hee

Even if I didn't write Riley's name on this picture, I bet you could tell who's it was. ;0) He does love the color blue......

Another messy, but fun tradition accomplished!!

Snowmen Activities

We had a snowman night the other night! We read Snowmen At Night & watched Frosty the Snowman!

Before we watched the movie though, we made Snowman Sundaes!!

After U stacked their ice cream to look like snowmen, I let them go at it, adding faces, scarves, hats, & buttons!

They also added "snow" to their sundaes. (canned whip cream)

I fixed them hot chocolate in snowman mugs and they watched Frosty the Snowman.

You may have noticed Zach was missing in these pictures. He was working the boy scout tree lot with Jeff, but don't worry he didn't miss out on all of the fun. When he got home, he got to make a snowman sundae too. (and he didn't really care that he missed the book and movie...)

This is how he ate his; head first!

And yes, I know he has no shirt one. Those boys will strip down at the first chance! (No matter how cold it is outside!!)

This was SO fun! I think he found a new tradition!!

Elfie is back!!

Elfie is BACK!! He came back on December 1st with candy canes for the kids and a note saying that he was back from the North Pole to watch over the kids and to report back to Santa!

He is also back to his crazy antics!

He made marshmallow snowmen one day & used Barbie accessories!

One morning, we found him & two Barbies playing Candy Land:

He was making his list for Santa one time too:

Then that crazy elf was skiing with candy canes down our tree!

Batman got into the action by having a snowball fight with Elfie:

Elfie was in the lead during this sack race!!

And this morning, we woke up to Elfie Tee-peeing our tree!!

That silly Elfie!!

Like last year though, he was a good elf & always cleaned up his mess while we weren't looking and then hung out somewhere else during the day:

Stay tuned for more Elfie updates!
