Easter Egg Dying, Hunts, & Crafts!

We have been busy with Easter stuff this week! Earlier in the week, we made these cool crosses with oil pastels.

First, you cut out the shape of a cross, and color the outline with whatever colors you want:

Then you tape the cross to a piece of paper and smudge the color off onto the paper:

After the entire cross has been smudged, take the taped cross off & you get this cool cross:

The next craft we made was an egg that was cut out of card stock that we put designs on using painters tape:

After the design is on, the kids used paint to paint over the entire egg:

Emma also took this opportunity to paint herself. ;0)

After the paint is dry, peel off the tape & you have the design!

This is Emma's egg. I took pictures of my kids' eggs, but I guess I didn't transfer them over to the computer. :0( They did a good job though!!

The other craft from this week, I only did with Emma. Here is her bunny with footprint ears & hand print whiskers:

This morning, we dyed Easter Eggs!

It is crazy how much more relaxing this is now that the kids are older. I actually enjoy this now. ;0)

Then this afternoon, we went over to Jeff's parents' house for an egg hunt! They started out with an egg race first though.

Then it was time for the hunt!!

They had SO much fun!!
The only thing we have left now, is Easter itself!

Random

Here is just a bunch of random stuff that has been going on around here.

Last week I had my 35th Birthday.....yeah.... ;0)

Zach made this sign for Riley:

AWE! See, they can get along!! :0)

After the last snow, Jeff made snow ice cream, but fancied it up by adding mint flavoring, green food coloring, and chocolate chips. They kids were in love!!

I tutor Mr. Ares twice a week, and this week, we had an egg hunt where he had to find the eggs, which had letters on them, in order of the alphabet. His motivator? The "Z" had candy in it. ;0)

These ice cream eggs are delicious.

Riley thought this was a good outfit that he put together:

Before I remembered how he was dressed, I let him go into the school to get Zach from scouts.....

This little cutie cracks me up all of the time!

I have been getting all crafty for Easter! I made this banner from printed off letters, and ribbon & wooden shapes I found in the $ bin at Target!

The kids are going to take these jars filled with peanut butter eggs to their teachers this week:

This is what my family room looks like right now....

I bet you know what the kids are going to be doing in the near future.....

Disney On Ice

Last Saturday, we went to Disney on Ice! It was SO good! We also had awesome seats! (Thanks Jeff!) We were only four rows up from the ice!

There were SO many characters that came out! First was Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy, of course!

Then it went into Aladdin, with all of these genies:

Then Finding Nemo! They had Nemo, his dad, Dory, and the sharks!
(I wish these pictures were better, but since my camera has a detachable lens, they wouldn't let me bring it in, so I had to make do with me phone.)

After Nemo, was Beauty & the Beast. They had the household objects, Belle, Gaston, and the Beast as a beast & as the Prince.

Then the moment Lily as waiting for, a lot of princesses & their princes came out! Cinderella, Jasmine; Snow White, Mulan, Ariel, and Pocahontas.

Toy Story was after that, with the soldier men, Buzz, Woody, and Jessie!

When these came out, Lily got so excited. She yelled, "It's me favorite ride!" Yes, that's It's a Small World. And yes, she LOVED that ride!

We were also treated to a marching band playing the Mickey Mouse Club song.

Pinocchio was the next story we saw. This was made complete with Jimminy Cricket, Pinocchio, The Blue Fairy, Geppetto, The wolves who trick Pinocchio, and marionettes.

They even had Maestro the whale!

Mulan's story was next, and they had a cool dragon to help tell this fairy tale.

The grand finale was all of the characters coming out to skate and fireworks coming out of the castle!

I am so glad we got to go to this. It was really fun to watch!!
