Go Chiefs!

Since I had taken all of those pictures of Lily in her new tutu, I decided to frame them. Then when I framed them and was trying to decide where to put them, I decided that I needed to take pictures of the boys to frame also. Since Jeff is such a big Chiefs fan & the boys already had the jerseys, I thought the boys in them would make good pictures. Here are the pictures that I took of them. I thought they turned out pretty good & can't wait to get them up in frames. (Because I don't have enough pictures of my kids, ha ha!)

Fish

In case any of you are wondering about the fish we got at Fun Night....we only have one left. =( Yesterday morning, Jeff noticed one was dead and took it out. Obviously not giving our children enough credit, we decided not to say anything. Zach gets upset when the Disney characters die, so I really didn't want to explain why the fish died. Well, Riley was looking at the fish and said, "One of the fish is hiding!" Jeff & I must have exchanged a look that he noticed because then Riley said, "Did you EAT the fish?!?" (Riley has a strange fear that we are going to eat his fish....I don't even like fish!) We told him that it died. He asked why. We said because fish don't live long. He said OK. Crisis averted! Until after school. Zach looked in and did not notice that there were now only two, but what he did notice was that one of them was "sleeping" as he put it. Number two had kicked the bucket. Zach actually took this in stride too though. Even though they had named them, Zach's were Max and Diamond and Riley's was My Sweet Little Fish, (I'm not sure which one is still alive.) I guess they weren't that attached to them. Which is OK with me.

This is a cool trick you can do to you pictures. If you go to http://photofunia.com/
you pick a picture and then upload your photo. (It works better if you shrink the size of your photo first.) I saw this on another person's blog and thought it was cool.

Spring...Is that really you?

Spring is my second favorite season, Fall being my first. I like Winter and Summer too....I just wish there was less of each of them. After the first snow, I am ready to move on, and I would like Summer much better if it just wasn't so hot!!! =) So today when it was warm and sunny, we decided to go for a walk to the park. On the way we saw signs of Spring!! Here are some of them:

Two kids in a wagon ready for a walk....
(with NO coats or jackets!!)
Buds on the trees....
Riley rolling down the hill at the park...
(OK, he does this in all of the seasons, but he wanted me to take his picture.)
Green grass poking up....
A robin.....
Little purple flowers.....
And two tired kids after playing at the park.

Baptism

Our very good friends, Stephanie and Vince, adopted three beautiful children in December; Jomarie, and twin boys Jesse and Joshua. Jeff and I have the honor of being Joshua's Godparents. All three children were baptized today. Here are some pictures from the baptism.

This is Joshua being baptized. Both boys were really good about having water poured on their heads.

This is Jesse.
This is Jomarie. She is such a sweetheart!!

Here we all are, kids, Steph & Vince, Father, and all of the Godparents.

Fun Night!

Tonight we went to Fun Night at Zach's school. The kids had a lot of fun and Jeff & I were exhausted afterwards! Here are some pictures of the fun we had.

This is the cupcake caterpillar I made for the Cake Walk.
These are the balloons that the "Balloon Man" made for Zach & Riley. Zach got a butterfly and Riley got a spider.

Here is Lily at the Cake Walk. She won two cakes her first two times doing it!!

Riley won a cake too later on in the evening!

Lily LOVES ducks, so when she won the first time, we took her over to the cakes & she yelled out, "Duck! Duck!" So this was the one she got.

This is the pop ring toss game that was in Zach's class. Riley and Zach both won a bottle of pop!!

By the end of the night we had won FIVE cakes!!! Jeff won the last one & he let a little girl who was next to him pick one out for herself since we definitely didn't need that many cakes. I am not sure what we are going to do with four. Here are the two cakes Lily won, and the cakes that Zach & Riley won.

We also won fish..... I am really not that excited about this one. =)
Zach won two and Riley won one.
(The two fish in the back are a really light color, so you can't really see them.)
All of the kids won other things too and got lots of consolation prizes. They all went to bed when we got home and promptly fell asleep.

Children's Theatre

We went to see Jack and the Beanstalk at Wichita Children's Theatre today. It was a lot of fun and Riley and Lily really enjoyed it. Here are some pictures from the show.
Here are Riley and Lily anxiously awaiting the show to start.

These are two scenes from the play: Jack hiding from the Giant and Jack and his cow (it even danced!)
This is Riley (sitting on Aunt Amy's lap) watching the show, he was really into it.

Riley got to have his picture taken with Jack's Mom after the show and got to see the other characters too.

Ballerina Lily

I ordered this Tutu (more on where at the bottom) and when I opened the box, Lily was extremely excited. She is such a girly-girl. She loved having it on & getting her picture taken. These were the best ones & it was hard to choose as she just sat there smiling. =)

I love this one where she is looking at the tutu.

I like the expression she has on her face in this one.
It's as if she is saying, "yes, I know I am cute."

I think she was done here.....

I ordered this tutu off of Etsy, it is a website that sells handmade items. Right now several of the people who sell things there are selling things in memory of a little girl named Cora Paige who died of cancer a few weeks ago at the age of 11 months. All of the proceeds go to the Cora Playground Fund. I do not know these people, but I heard their story through a friend's blog and it broke my heart. If you would like to buy some really cute handmade things, this is the place to do it. Go to http://www.corapaige.blogspot.com/ and click on the pink button at the top if you would like to check it out.

Pretty Toes!

As I have said before, Lily loves having her toenails painted. She also wishes she could do it herself. Well, today she saw a bottle of nail polish & said, "Toes! Toes!" So I rolled up her jeans & painted her tiny little toenails. When I was done I went back to cleaning my bathroom. Lily went back into my bedroom. Soon I heard: "Toes! Toes!" I went into my room to see what she was doing. Yep, you guessed it, Lily had found another bottle of polish, had gotten the lid off, and was gleefully painting her toes. Amazingly, she didn't get a drop on her clothes......but did you know that you can get fingernail polish out of the carpet with fingernail polish remover?

Does this look the face of someone who thinks she is in trouble?

Not A Morning Person

I was looking through the pictures on my camera & saw this one. Jeff must have taken this one Sunday morning (while I was still blissfully sleeping.) The expression on Zach's face is so me in the morning. He & I are not morning people. Riley is, look at his smiling face in this picture. I'm not too sure what Lily is thinking in this picture. She is usually a morning person too. They take after their Dad.

Playing Outside

The weather today is beautiful! This afternoon, Riley & Lily were playing outside. Here is Riley on his scooter. He likes to go down the driveway because it is faster.
Here he is cheesing for the camera.

This is the inch worm Lily got for her first Christmas (when she was 6 months old). I think the idea behind this was that she would be able to use it when she was a year old.....well, this is the first time she has actually been able to use it, and she is 19 1/2 months old. =)

Here she is all proud of herself for making it clear across the street.

Yeah for Lily!
