St Patrick's Day Parade (2015)

We were in the St. Patrick's Day Parade this weekend! Jeff's mom, Sheril, is running for re-election for the Wichita school board, so she had a float in the parade. The kids were SO excited about this!! We got our green on and headed down to the Lawrence Dumont Stadium parking lot where the trailer we had decorated the night before was located.

While we waited for the parade to actually start, my niece Madison and I walked around looking at the other people in the parade.

After awhile, we headed back to our float.
This is my mother-in-law, Sheril:

We had lots of kids for the floats. Mainly grandchildren, but friends kids too. :0)

Right after noon, the parade started and we finally got to start moving!

The kids had a lot of fun waving to the crowd and the adults (plus a few older kids) passed out candy, flyers, and buttons.

Sheril has done a great job on the school board for the past 4 years, and I know she'll do great for another 4! So if you live in USD 259's district, vote for Sheril Logan on April 7th!!

St. Patrick's Day Craft Party!

On Monday (because that's when we could all get together), we had a St. Patrick's Day Craft Party. We even had a treasure hunt planned:

With a treasure waiting at the end!

But first, we started with a couple of cute St. Patrick's art projects. The first one was a handprint rainbow. We got all of the colors of the rainbow and painted the kids hands each color.

Then we arced their handprints across the paper.

Then we added pots of gold for the end. They turned out super cute!

The next craft was making a leprechaun's face. I had all of the pieces cut out, they just had to assemble them.

Aren't they cute??

Finally, it was time for the treasure hunt!

The kids raced around the house and out in the backyard to find the next clue!

They reached the last place and found their treasure!!

All of that running around makes you hungry and thirsty, so of course we had to have some yummy green treats!

Thanks everyone for helping make this another great craft day!
