Sprinklers, Swimming, and Cousins!

Last week, Emma, David, and Amy were over, so we broke out Lily's new Sprinkler Ball!!

The kids thought it was a lot of fun!

Emma was a little leery of the sprinkler, but when Lily & Riley made the water stop, she thought it was safe.....

It wasn't!

She stayed a safe distance from it after that. ;0)

David was more interested in eating than playing in the sprinkler. :0)

Emma is just as big as those two boys! ;0)

Then Lily, Zach, and Riley decided to dry out on their towels.

After a short stint on Lily's towel, Emma thought it would be more fun to jump over the kids. Hee hee!

On Monday, we went over to my brother Tom's house to swim in his pool with some of my family.

Lots of fun and laughing that day!!
Afterwards, we stopped off and got ice cream!

(Zach got ice cream too, he was just in the front seat with me.)
We are loving these summer days!!

Logan Family Reunion

Last Friday, we headed down to Dallas/Fort Worth Texas for a Logan Family Reunion. On Saturday morning, the kids all got together to swim:

After swimming, we waited in the hotel lobby to go to the Food Trucks in downtown Dallas.

Lily & Uncle Sam:

Jeff & the kids with Great Grandma:

Lily & Aiden with Grandma:

Richard, Norma, Elayne, Bryce, and William with their Logan Family shirts on!

Still waiting to go to the food trucks.....

Finally in downtown Dallas! The kids took a picture on this statue. Then the adults promptly got in trouble for it. ;0)

Food Trucks!!

Lily posing while she waits for Jeff to bring her some lunch:

Lily got a peanut butter & jelly crepe that she loved.

Zach was in heaven with fried catfish and fries.

Jeff & I had these sliders. There was a BBQ beef one with baked mac & cheese on top, a chicken strip with garlic mashed potatoes one, and a spicy sausage one. They were pretty good!

I forgot to take a picture of Riley's. He had a sandwich called The Dead Elvis. It was peanut butter, nutella, and bacon. While that sounds disgusting to me, he said it was the best sandwich he had ever had. :0)

Later on that night, we all met for a dinner of yummy BBQ and a family meeting. (The kids played during the meeting.)

During the meeting Jeff & I were able to order these shirts:

The picture that is on there was drawn by Jeff's late Grandpa. :0)

We had lunch at Jeff's Aunt & Uncle's house on Sunday and then headed back to Wichita. It was nice to see some family we don't see very often.

Science Experiments & Cooking!

Last week, we did both a science experiment and a "cooking" project.
First was the experiment. We made colors spread and mix in milk by adding dish soap. We needed milk, food colors, and liquid soap:

I had each of the kids pour milk onto to plate....

add drops of food coloring into the milk....

then add a drop or two of liquid soap.

The colors are supposed to dramatically move and mix, but that didn't really happen. So we decided to use a different soap.

We thought that using a different soap might help, but that didn't make to much of a difference. So the kids decided we needed to use paper plates instead.

That did work!

That spreading and mixing happened in a matter of seconds and was really fun to watch. It was also fun to listen to the kids come up with reasons on why it wasn't working and coming up with solutions. :0)

Our cooking project didn't actually involve cooking, but it was still yummy!! We made frozen berry yogurt. We needed a bag of frozen berries, 1 cup plain or vanilla yogurt, 3 tablespoons of honey, and juice of one lemon.

First we poured the frozen berries into the food processor:

Poured the yogurt in...

added the honey.....

and squeezed the juice from the lemon in.

We turned the food processor on and waited for the mixture to be smooth and creamy!

YUM!!

The kids loved this and want to make it again soon!
