Downtown Christmas Tree Lighting

On Tuesday night we headed downtown to the annual Christmas Tree lighting! The boys & I have never been, but my niece Rachel took Lily last year & she loved it! So, we all decided to go this year! (Except poor Jeff who is freezing in Montana this week.)

We started out in front of Century II where the tree is. Zach was helping Lily see:

Mayor Brewer got up & announced the singers; The Newman University troubadours. (My Alma Mater!)

We came with my sister Kathleen & we met her daughter, Rachel & her family there. Zach also helped Ares see better. :0)

Riley liked the songs. :0)

Finally it was time to push the button to light the tree!

A bunch of other lights lit up too!!

Then Mrs. Clause read Twas The Night Before Christmas.

Brigid & Ceri were really good waiting for the next part; Santa & fireworks!!

suddenly we heard a loud boom & flashing lights!! It was fireworks announcing Santa riding on a fire truck!!

After Santa rode off to go inside Century II for pictures, they had a really big fireworks show!!

After the fireworks, we headed inside. The first thing we did was get in line to see Santa!

Then it was time for inflatables & games!

We even got a picture with Mrs. Clause!

We were going to ride the hayrack ride next, but after waiting in line for 15 minutes, (and we were still probably about 1/2 hour away from actually riding them...) 2 little people had a fight/melt-down, so we (I) decided to go. Which was actually OK with me because it was getting pretty cold. (I just wish that was the reason, not the fighting...)
Kathleen was happy though. After I dropped her off, she texted me that she was going to thank my kids for misbehaving so she could go home, but she didn't think they would appreciate it. LOL!! Too funny. :0)
It was a fun time though & the kids had fun.
